WEEK 3 PREDICTIONS

CLEVELAND at BALTIMORE: Easily overmatched and on the road, Flacco should have his way with the secondary. Clevelands run defense is better than the perception and could hold Ray Rice under control. Seneca Wallace should be getting another start after a good performance last week, and Cribbs should touch the ball more if the Browns have a shot to compete. Hillis and Harrison will face their toughest opponents yet and given their low rushing totals so far, they should have no place to go. The Ravens have yet to hit their stride Offensively and this could be just what they needed to get things moving. After being man handled again by the Bengals, look for the Ravens to come out strong and not let up. Baltimore wins 28-13.

FANTASY STARTS: CLEVELAND- Cribbs (5 for 70 yds 1 TD) BALTIMORE- Rice (14 for 65/ 4 catch for 35 1 TD) Boldin (6 for 85 1 TD) Mason ( 4 for 50 1 TD) Flacco (240 yds. 2 TD)

SLEEPER: McGahee...he could steal some carries once this one gets out of hand as well as a goal line steal.

CINCINNATI at CAROLINA: The Bengals are averaging 340 yds/pg versus Carolina's 257. Given the Bengals ability to hold Baltimore down last week, the defense should have it's swagger back and make Clausen's first NFL start one to forget. Steve Smith has a deep bruise on his wrist though mild injuries don't seem to hinder him. Chad Ochocinco has a fractured rib and could be a late scratch given the opponent. Carolina doesn't have the horses to compete with top tier teams this year and Clausen will make a few mistakes that turn into points. The Bengals should feed Cedric Benson a good portion of touches in an effort to get him into a rhythm after a slow start. Bengals 23-Panthers 14.

FANTASY STARTS: CAROLINA- Steve Smith (5 for 70 yds 1 TD) Williams (19 for 80 1 TD)

CINCINNATI- Benson (18 for 90 1 TD) Palmer ( 260 yds. 2 TD) T.O. (7 for 90 1 RD) Ochocinco could get those numbers if he plays the duration.

SLEEPER: J. Greisham...If Ocho is given some time to rest, Greisham could be utilized often.

DALLAS at HOUSTON: These two teams are actually close statistically in YPG and Passing but it all separates when it comes to PPG. Dallas is averaging a poor 13.5 compared to Houston's 32. This may be a must win game for Dallas but Houston proved they can score with anyone and are the real deal.Last week was their first ever OT win. The Defense will allow Dallas to score better than the previous two games which can make this a shoot out until the end. Andre Johnson's ankle will be a big factor in how this game turns out. The Texans become very one dimensional without him and even if he isn't at top speed it's better than not having him on the field. Dallas will have to get their run game going and control the clock, keeping the ball out of Schaub's hands. If Dallas loses I would not be surprised to see Jerry Jones pave the way for a bye week firing of Phillips. This team is portraying all the signs of poor prep and some new blood could be what they need to spark some fire under them. Roy Williams has all but lost the job to Dez Bryant, whom has done more in two games than Williams last six. Contingent upon the health of Johnson, Houston wins 28-24.

FANTASY STARTS: DALLAS- Dez Bryant (7 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Austin (9 for 110 1 TD) Romo (290 yds. 2 TD) HOUSTON- Foster (18 for 95 1 TD/ 3 for 25) Johnson ( 8 for 100 yds. 1 TD) Schaub ( 300 yds. 2 TD)

SLEEPER: Felix Jones...The Texans have yet to face a speed back and Jones could provide them some problems. J. Jones (Hou)...He was able to display a bit of his ability against Washington and given Johnson's ankle issue they may look to ease his work load giving Jones a chance to shine.

SAN FRANCISCO at KANSAS CITY: The new Arrowhead is as hostile a place to play as the old one, just ask the Chargers. The Chiefs always take it to another level at home and after a great start will be playing at full speed. The lack of a pass game outside of Vernon Davis should help the Chiefs focus in on Gore who will be coming off a short week where he carried a heavy load. KC is in a good postion to win only if Cassel can do better than he has and get his receivers involved early. KC has yet to face a good LB corps like the Niners, whom will be able to keep the run game in check. The way Rivers and Seneca Wallace were able to pass on KC could turn out being the secondary key to the game. Alex Smith looked a lot better on Monday night and although they lost, I think it may have been a slight motivator confidence wise knowing they can come back when the game is on the line. Look for Charles to get more work here as Weiss follows the Saints game plan and sends Charles running routes more often than normal. The speed of the SF linebackers will prove tough for Thomas Jones' style. Although this game is a toss up, Alex Smith has shown he is playing at a high level for him and we have yet to see Cassel scratch the surface of a good outing. This is where he does, and it pays off. KC squeaks it out 17-14.

FANTASY STARTS: KANSAS CITY-Charles (10 for 45/ 4 for 50 yds. 1 TD) Bowe ( 4 for 60 yds. 1 TD) SAN FRANCISCO- Davis ( 7 for 85 1 TD) Gore (14 for 70 yds/ 5 for 55 1 TD)

SLEEPER: Crabtree, SF...Both Naanee and Cribbs had success againts this secondary and Crabtree knows the bust birds are circling.

PITTSBURGH at TAMPA BAY: This game is one of the more intriguing games due to the fact that it is the only game on Sunday where two 2-0 teams will square off and that it should be closer that what you would think given the recent history of these two teams. The Steelers are winning with Defense and Dixon was proving to be the QB they expected to groom for the future. However, after a miniscus injury Dixon is out and either Leftwich or Batch is in. The Bucs know Leftwich well, but Batch should be the front runner due to health. The Bucs had success shutting down the Carolina run game and the Defense in general seems to be playing as fast as they ever have. The Steelers have so far kept teams with more explosive backs in check, so it will be on the Bucs passing game to try and put up points through the air. Mendenhall should be called on often to allow whoever the QB is to settle in on their first start. This should be where the Buc D focuses and forces Pittsburgh to beat them through the air. At the risk of making a bias projection, the Bucs pull this one out 16-14.

FANTASY STARTS: BUCS- Winslow (7 for 50 1TD.) Mike Williams ( 8 for 60 1 TD)

STEELERS- Mendenhall (18 for 90 1 TD) Ward (6 for 70 1 TD)

SLEEPER: Stroughter (TB)...The Bucs will need to spread the ball around and Stroughter could provide a big game out of the slot where the Steeler secondary weakens a bit.

DETROIT LIONS at MINNESOTA: Who in the world would have expected the PPG stats to be 23 vs 9.5 in the LIONS favor! I have a hard time believing the Sidney Rice was that integral a part of this team that would have the Vikes averaging only 185 yds per game. Their slow start looks to me more the result of guys playing out of position and a lack of chemistry due to the Favre holdout and injuries. The Vikings get the match up they need in the Lions, whom have lost Nate Burleson to his yearly ankle injury and Matt Stafford to his yearly shoulder injury. Though missing both men, Shaun Hill has stepped in admirably and Detroit is a team that will fight until the end. Jhavid Best is proving to be this years best rookie back so far and could give the Vikes some headaches. Regardless, the Vikings run game will be able to control the clock and Favre should find a rhythm finally with Harvin and Berrian. Harvin is nursing a hip strain, but it didn't seem to hamper him too much last week. Pettigrew had a great outing last week and should get more looks with Burleson out. Given how well the Lions are playing, the Vikings could just as easily lose this game as they could win it. In the end, the Vikings home stand proves dividends and they pull away 28-17.

FANTASY STARTS: LIONS- Best (16 for 50 yds/ 4 for 55 1 TD) Johnson (7 for 80 yds. 1 TD)

VIKINGS- A.P. ( 16 for 90 1 TD/ 4 for 35) Harvin ( 6 for 72 1 TD) Favre ( 250 yds. 2 TD)

SLEEPER: Bryant Johnson...someone will need to step up in Burleson's place and help take pressure off Megatron. Johnson had some good games last year and could sneak up on the Vikings.

BUFFALO at NEW ENGLAND: New QB, same result. The Bills are a rebuilding team who need more help than they can draft in one year. They are young and better days are ahead. Normally a competitive game by the Bills, I think the swap to a new QB making his first start on the road here hurts. Lee Evans has been a complete let down though not his fault and Chan Gailey has not really brought the spark everyone hoped for. Lynch needs to be traded to get some help fast. New England is back on track in what should be an easy day. New England 31-17

FANTASY STARTS: NEW ENGLAND: Uhh, everyone. BUFFALO: NOBODY!! With Lynch getting all the work last week and Gailey now promising Spiller will get a bigger work load with Fred Jackson. Until there are only two RB's in this town there is nobody safe starting.
SLEEPER: Roscoe Parrish: He has seemed to get the little bit of work amongst the WR and could post some good numbers since Buffalo will be throwing a lot.

ATLANTA at NEW ORLEANS: Mike Turner is expected to be back and active this week but pay close attention to how much work he gets on Thursday practice. Overall, this is a bad sign for Atlanta who overworked Turner last year and wound up missing him in some games. Matt Ryan is proving to be a one dimensional QB who needs more weapons. Gonzales has maybe hit the end of the road and no Mike Jenkins forced Ryan to target White a ridiculous 25 times? Atlanta is an easy team to scheme for and New Orleans should have a fairly easy game at home. Atlanta will make the score look closer than the game actually is. Fantasy wise, no NO WR has looked really great or put up the big numbers. I think the loss of Bush will hurt more than people think. Chris Ivory may be a good waiver claim but Deshaun Wynn should get all the initial work, but it will be limited since Pierre Thomas can will be a work horse. NO 28-21.

FANTASY STARTS: ATLANTA: Turner/Snelling ( 17 for 80 yds. 4 for 46 1 TD) White (9 for 110 1 TD) NEW ORLEANS: Thomas (19 for 90 yds. 6 for 45 1 TD) Brees (290 yds. 3 TD) Colston ( 6 for 90 1 TD) Meachem (5 for 80)
SLEEPER: Chris Ivory...He showed explosiveness in the pre-season and if healthy could get a few touches that are made to count.

TENNESSEE at NY GIANTS: This should be one of the better games to watch because this game should say a lot about how these teams deal with adversity going forward. The Giants were dismantled by the Colts and Brandon Jacobs meltdown led to a meeting with management. The Titans benched Vince Young and last time he was benched it wasn't good. Coaches seem more comfortable than ever benching then starting QB's but I don't see Young as a guy that appreciates it. Then again every competitive QB wants in there regardless. Chris Johnson should have a good but not great day as the Giants force VY to beat them with the throw. Giants win a close one, 20-17

FANTASY STARTS: NY GIANTS: Manning (250 yds 2 TD) Nicks ( 5 for 80 1 TD) Manningham (4 for 60 1TD) TITANS: CJ ( 17 for 96/ 3 for 40 1 TD) Nate Washington ( 4 for 65 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Brandon Jacobs....He is bound to get a bigger workload after supposedly asking for a trade and making his frustrations known. The Giants know they need him for the long season and will appease him by giving him 10 to 12 touches and maybe some goal line work.

WASHINGTON at ST.LOUIS: The Redskins have shown more Offense than anyone anticipated given their lack of receiver depth. Larry Johnson was released yesterday, opening the door for Keiland Williams who could steal the lead back job if given a real opportunity. Portis won't be healthy all year and the Redskins may have a diamond in the rough here. The Rams have been the best losing team to watch so far with Bradford and Mark Clayton surprising critics. The Rams will beat some unsuspecting teams this year and it may just start this week. Portis is a bit banged up and two hard fought games should have Washington's aged team a bit slower than normal. Upset of the week, St. Louis wins 21-17.

FANTASY START: WASHINGTON: Cooley (5 for 68 1 TD) Moss (7 for 95 1 TD) McNabb (225 2 TD) ST. LOUIS: Clayton (8 for 110 1 TD) Jackson ( 16 for 90 1 TD/ 6 for 60)
SLEEPER: Bradford...Washington has given up a lot of points through the air and Bradford could have a statistically great game fantasy wise.

PHILADELPHIA at JACKSONVILLE: Looks like the locker room won here as Reid came out on Monday naming Kolb the starter then flip flopped naming Vick the starter on Tuesday. The players will rally around Vick who really does give them the best chance to win for now. I do agree with Mr. Clayton form ESPN though in believing this is a bad long term decision. Kolb is the future and what happens when Vick wets the bed? While Kolb looked weak in both pre-season and game 1, lets see what happens as the season wares on. For now, Vick is a top five QB start this week. Mike Simms-Walker was finally involved last week though most of it was garbage time. I have been preaching that something is wrong with MJD since pre-season. He has had an amazing amount of work the last four years and that 500 carry mark is when backs start to show signs of over use. I believe MJD is playing hurt and while he will be an every day start, he will not come close to his top five draft status. This could be a closer game than expected as Jacksonville always seems to play their A game at home. Philadelphia wins though 24-21.

FANTASY STARTS: PHILADELPHIA: Vick ( 230 yds. 2 TD/ 4 for 50 yds) D. Jackson ( 6 for 85 1 TD) McCoy ( 16 for 75 yds/ 4 for 40 1 TD) JACKSONVILLE: Simms-Walker (7 for 90 1 TD) Gerrard ( 250 yds. 2 TD) MJD (16 for 90yds. 1 TD) M. Lewis (6 for 70 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Mike Thomas...not necessarily a sleeper, Thomas should produce as most of the attention is on the right side of the field and MJD.

INDIANAPOLIS at DENVER: The Broncos will play an emotional game coming off the death of receiver Mckinley. How they respond is anyone's guess and there would be no criticism should they fall flat under the circumstances. I do think they play a hard fought game and give the Colts a run for their money. The return of Moreno and Buckhalter is good news as the passing attack will become more balanced. Orton loves to spread the ball around and the run game return adds another dimension. He has quietly thrown for 295 and 302 in 2 games. The Colts picked apart the Giants last weekend but they will face a stiffer challenge as the Broncos secondary is much better than the Giants. Pierre Garcon's disappearing act has been tempered by Austin Collie's emergence and the run game had it's first decent game last week. If the Broncos come out strong amid their adversity, this could be an upset. Broncos 31 Colts 28.

FANTASY STARTS: INDIANAPOLIS: Wayne (7 for 90 yds 1 TD) Collie ( 5 for 70 yds) Manning (300 yds 3 TD) Addai (16 for 80 1 TD/ 5 for 40 yds) DENVER: Orton (310 yds. 2 TD) Thomas (7 for 90 1 TD) Moreno (15 for 80 yds 1 TD) Royal ( 6 for 70 1 TD)
SLEEPER: J. Gaffney and P. Garcon...with the attention on Demaryus Thomas' breakout game and Royal being a known threat, this could be the game where Gaffney sneaks in a score again. The Broncos know what to expect form the Colts, and Garcon may be the key to Manning winning this one. Both receivers get out of the basement here.

OAKLAND at ARIZONA: Cable makes the smart move and Gradkowski is the starter. This benefits Louis Murphy the most since they seem to have a trust with each other. Being a TB fan, I see a lot of Jeff Garcia in Gradkowski whom served as his mentor somewhat. The return of McFadden helps take the pressure off a weak pass protecting Offensive line and Heyward-Bey's best game of his young career could mean good things to come. The Cards are in trouble and must be re-thinking the release of Leinart. Wells doesn't seem quite ready to play yet, but Hightower has taken the lead back role effectively, but the problem is with Anderson and the passing game. Fitzgerald will get his numbers, but looks so far like he will not reach his elite fantasy status. Especially with Asomugh covering him. Oakland wins this game behind a shifty Gradkowski and the run game, 21-14.

FANTASY STARTS: OAKLAND: Murphy (7 for 85 1 TD) Miller ( 6 for 70 1 TD) McFadden ( 22 for 120 yds. 1 TD) ARIZONA: Fitzgerald (5 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Hightower (17 for 80 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Breaston...who will need to have a good game and should have plenty of targets while Fitz is blanketed.

SAN DIEGO at SEATTLE: The Chargers bounced back after and upset loss in KC and Rivers could end up right behind Rogers as the league's top passer. Malcom Floyd met expectations last week, but the ankle injury to Matthews while minor could be something to watch long term. Mike Tolbert looks to be who they will turn to should he have issues and may get more carries this game than expected. Norv already stated he will split goal line duties with Matthews and could pose big problems for opposing Defenses. Seattle came back to earth last week and the lack of any production from their run game is allowing Defenses to key on the pass. While always tough at home, San Diego just has too many options and should win a high scoring affair. SD 34-28.

FANTASY STARTS: SAN DIEGO: Floyd ( 6 for 90 1 TD) Naanee ( 5 for 70 1 TD) Gates (6 for 80 1 TD) Matthews ( 17 for 70 yds. 1 TD) Rivers ( 320 yds. 3 TD) SEATTLE: Hasselbeck (290 yds. 2 TD) Williams ( 6 for 80 1 TD) Carlson ( 6 for 50 yds 1 TD) Forsett ( 13 for 55 yds/ 6 for 50 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Deion Branch...Branch is always a gamer at home and Hasselbeck trusts him.

NY JETS at MIAMI: Miami is coming off a big win at home against the Vikings but Henne still has yet to prove he is reliable as a passer. Marshall's stock will continue to be in doubt until Henne hits his stride. Ricky Williams has been non existent as Ronnie Brown has shown knee surgery has not hampered him. The lack of a number two threat out wide will keep teams in games against them. Their top rated pass defense will keep them competitive if Henne can produce. The Jets will not start Braylon Edwards after another DWI which kills their potential even more to score through the air, making them one dimensional. Even if Edwards plays this is an easy game for the Dolphins to plan for. Shonn Green and L.T. will be used heavily and I think the Dolphins follow suit with Williams getting more carries. Cromartie should shadow Marshall taking the Dolphins pass game away.

FANTASY STARTS: JETS: Greene (17 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Tomlinson ( 15 for 60 yds./ 6 for 50 yds. 1 TD) MIAMI: Brown ( 18 for 90 yds. 1 TD) Williams ( 13 for 60 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Fasano and Keller....Both teams will need to move the ball somehow through the air and their TE are the only decent second options as Cromarie and Davis hold each teams WR studs at bay.

GREEN BAY at CHICAGO: The Bears are riding high at 2-0 silencing the critics who doubted Cutler's abilities. Forte has bounced back after an off year and looks to be heavily involved all season long. This week will prove just how legit their Offense is facing a Defense that is much stronger than Detroit's or Dallas'. This game will come down to the Bears D ability to hold Rogers in some kind of check so that the game doesn't get away from them too fast and allow GB to sit back. While being able to use Forte as a pass catcher is a great weapon, I actually think the smarter move is to pound the ball with the run and keep the ball out of Rogers hands. If Chicago can win the posession time then they have a great chance. Regardless though, it doesn't take Rogers much time to score and the Bears have given up an average of 30 PPG. In the end Green Bay's Defense keeps Chicago from pulling it out. GB 31-28 CHI.

FANTASY STARTS: GREEN BAY...all the normal players in a game where Finley, Jennings, Jackson, and Driver score. CHICAGO: Forte (18 for 70 yds 1 TD/ 7 for 60 yds) Knox (6 for 70 1 TD) Cutler (270 yds. 2 TD) Hester ( 4 for 60 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: G. Olsen...Martz used Olsen last week with good results and I think he will need to do the same while Matthews is busy following Forte around. Olsen could easily take the stats projected for Hester or Knox.

WEEK 2 REVIEW

BUCCANEERS: Gotta start with my young Bucs....Freeman has developed into the QB people expected him too. He has all the tools and work ethic to become a great QB in this league. He stated after the game how they need to improve, and how many points they left on the field. That doesn't sound like a second year QB. The Defense is playing as fast as they have since the Super Bowl days and could be this year's breakout squad. I still need to see some steady production from the Z receiver position, which could come once Stovall returns. A big test will come next week as the Steelers come to town. This to me will be more a reflection of the coaching staff's ability to scheme against what is a top five defense than the players. Raheem Morris can prove he can be a coach in this league long term. Mike Williams seems to be the real deal and is a steady WR 2 for fantasy. Cadillac has value here also, but it will be more based on the match-up's when you use him. Freeman may have solidified himself as a worthy QB number 2 also.

CAROLINA: The second youngest team in the NFL is playing like the youngest team last year did (Bucs). As I've stated, the Carolina backs off-season surgeries seem to have hampered them. They still have time to hit their stride, but the lack of any weapons outside Smith is going to allow teams to focus all attention on the run game. They are a team which has talent, but needs to make a push for a WR via trade, or even V. Jackson. Think they're missing Peppers now? The secondary showed Week 1 wasn't a fluke and could become a problem given this is a team that can struggle without run dominance. As of Monday morning, Clausen has already been named the starter for week 3. Buy low now on Steve Smith, people will start to wonder this week about his value with Clausen, but I think it actually improves it. Clausen has a better arm and will try and force feed it to Smith. I wouldn't panic on Williams yet since he will get his, but the team struggles do not bode well for Stewart. I would get what you can for him at this point.

CHICAGO: Martz must have read my blog, because he decided to get Olsen involved. Adding Olsen into the mix makes all sorts of sense and dimensions to a spread quick pass attack. Cutler seemed to be quick and accurate for the most part. If this can continue, the Bears could put up the leagues top scoring mark. However, this could be a case of a team beating another team that is just plain over rated. The Bears are getting everyone involved and using their talents. Green Bay comes to town next week, so that should be a true test of where this team really is. A close game or a win will show they are legit contenders. I still wouldn't trust any WR for fantasy here since the ball will be spread out and week to week could be a different producer. Forte is the obvious every day starter in your line up, and Cutler has put up crazy numbers the last four games dating to last season. Given his use, Cutler is a viable number one QB.

DALLAS: A putrid pre-season has carried on into the regular season. Dez Bryant is the playmaker Jerry Jones hyped him up to be, but Roy Williams is proving to be an expensive bust. The running game is killing them, with Barber and Jones combining for 38 yards this week and 77 last week. Time to start mixing in Choice to see what he can offer as a starter. The Cowboys become very one dimensional and as seen can be beat without the run game despite their WR/TE weapons. They will hit their stride soon though as this seems to be more a case of poor off-season prep than lack of talent. They could go into the tank mentally if they lose to a Texans team whom has come out on fire. Phillips is done after this season. For fantasy, Dez Bryant, Austin, Witten and Romo are the only ones you want to target. Romo is going to be borderline though and is not going to match last years numbers. Teams seem to have the Cowboys number this year and a major change is in need in their play calling.

NY JETS: Rex Ryan took the leash off Sanchez and allowed him to do what was needed if the Jets hope to contend. L.T. seems to really have the zip he lacked the last two seasons and is giving Shonn Greene owners a headache. Though Sanchez threw for three scores, they were not exactly throws that proved anything to me. A leaping Braylon Edwards catch and the lob pass before that seemed more the result of good body control by his receivers than great throws. Regardless, allowing Sanchez to throw is taking advantage of his weapons and forcing teams to play more conservative. It could be that this Pats Defense is weaker than anticipated, and with the next 2 vs Miami and Buffalo, we won't know for sure if the passing game is legit against playoff caliber defenses. Jets fans will take it, and this is the shot in the arm the Jets needed to get their swagger back. Shonn Greene is still valuable for fantasy, and as the season goes on will hit the potential he was drafted for. LT is definitely taking away more than anyone really expected, but he does have a history of injury the last few years and Rex will want to keep him fresh. At WR, I still don't buy Braylon Edwards or Sanchez at all. Once Santonio returns he should be the only WR you target. He and Sanchez seem to have a great bond and it should pay off come week 5.

NEW ENGLAND: On Offense, everything looks normal as Brady continues his bromance with Welker and Moss. The D is the big question here, giving up 52 pts. in two games. They are young somewhat in the secondary, but the Pats seem to be lacking the speed we are used to seeing. If anyone can correct it, the Hoodie can and will. It's early, and they Pats D can't really get much worse. Once they even out, this will be a playoff team who is dangerous as ever. You want all the usual suspects going forward, but to me Fred Taylor becomes that much more interesting given what could be a serious Kevin Faulk injury.

OAKLAND: Cambpell's benching couldn't have been good for his ego, but I give credit to Tom Cable for making the right and hard decision. Knowing that his ass was on the line, he went with the best QB in pre-season and it paid off. Gradkowski has all the tools, and reminds me of Jeff Garcia. McFadden is finally showing the speed and downhill running we saw in Arkansas. The way KC and SD are playing though it's an uphill struggle for them to do much damage. A few upsets and some steady production from the X position could pay off in setting the Raiders up in the future. For now, remember it was St. Louis...let's see if this win can carry over to Arizona on the road. The way MCfadden is running, Bush is nothing more than a handcuff for now, since McFadden will get hurt at some point due to the way he runs. Louis Murphy is the only WR I would trust and Zach Miller at TE is usually serviceable.

ST. LOUIS: Mark Clayton seems to be one of those players who never could reach his potential because he was stuck behind veteran talent in Baltimore. While everyone knew his abilities, the scheme and position just never let him loose like he is now. Being a big armed rookie QB's favorite target doesn't hurt either. The Rams are just falling short so far, but the Offense is displaying what may be in store for the future. Their main Achilles heel is Defense, which has needs that need to be filled, especially in the secondary. At least Rams fans are having fun watching this team lose unlike years past. Steven Jackson, and Clayton are the two you want in your line up so far, but surprisingly, Bradford has some value for a rookie as a bye week sub.

PHILADELPHIA: As I expected, Vick showed he can be a pocket passer and lead this team. All scrambler QB's eventually realize this, but the question was if Vick could do it. He proved it this week, passing for 284 and 2 TD while only running for 37. McCoy on Jackson had their breakout parties and made up for last weeks performance. Here comes the QB controversy! Vick adds a dimension to this team that will keep Defenses off balance. Even with the talent on this team, if Kolb is the QB, opposition know what to focus on. Having a guy that could take off any minute strains assignment, leaving someone in single coverage. The bigger concern is with the Defense. What was expected to be a top five coming into the year has given up 59 pts. in two games. They won't continue to put up games like this regardless who's at QB so the D needs to start proving they can keep scoring down. Andy Reid has already stated Kolb is the starter week 3, so this could get ugly in the locker room. Guys want to win this season, not next and Vick gives them that opportunity. All the guys you drafted here are going to produce, but Reid will give Kolb chance after chance since he was Reid's pick and successor to McNabb. Either way, the possible time share at QB hurts each QB's value.

DETROIT: Far from being in the tank after losing Stafford, Shaun Hill threw for 335 with 2 TD and 2 INT. The picks are what will continue to hurt Detroit, but they are showing they can compete with anybody. Two close games with Chicago and Phily are a big jump from last year. This is a team that could be scary once they are able to gel a bit more and once the Defense can begin making stands. Stafford's return will give them a boost once he returns, but it won't be next week when they visit a Vikings team with a major chip on their shoulder. Burleson has hurt his ankle again, which will hurt the value of Megatron and teams will be able to focus a bit more on him. I think this helps Scheffler's value big time. They will need him to step up and take that pressure off. So look for more targets. Jhavid Best added two more Touchdowns this week and regardless of the opponent, he is the best weapon they have in the RB position and will get fed.

MIAMI: A Win is a Win, but the Dolphins didn't do it in spectacular fashion. The game was overall ugly, and if not for the Percy Harvin missed catch/Int, this could have turned out much different. While Brian Harline showed some value, this is a team who will be and is too dependent on the run. With the Wildcat gimmick running it's course, Chad Henne is going to have to start producing more instead of doing his best Trent Dilfer impression. Yes, it can win games for this team, but it will also lose them. Ronnie Brown is clearly the fantasy guy you want on this team, and I don't see Brandon Marshall being too consistent this year because of Henne. I think Marshall is a sell high while you can right now if you need RB help. Ronnie Brown is really the only trust worthy starter on this team at this point.

MINNESOTA: Favre has to be questioning his return by now, left without a true number 1 WR and an Offensive line that is performing below it's abilities. A.P. is showing he can carry the load, but wearing him down in the process. The Vikes have to find their passing game, and if they can lure V. Jax to town, they become instant playoff contenders. Thankfully, it's early in the season and more time working with the receivers will be bound to help rectify their issues. Much like the Cowboys, this seems like a result of a lack of preparation in the off-season than a long term issue. The Vikings will return to their previous ways, just not until week four or six when they get another play maker on the team, be it VJax or Rice returning from injury. As of Monday morning, Percy Harvin is set to have an MRI on his hip, and the Vikes staff will meet to discuss how they need VJax desperately. Other than AP nobody is proving to be reliable in your line up week to week. Harvin is best out of the slot, so if VJax does come to town he will bounce back. Hold him for now, but watch the news.

INDIANAPOLIS: Both Addai and Brown had solid games as Peyton threw for 3 TD's against little brother. The last team you want to face is one with an angry Peyton Manning. He looked surgical and if the run game can keep it up their return to last year's form is right around the corner. Every fantasy pick on this team will produce, but the production of Garcon is leaving something to be desired. Peyton doesn't seem to have 100% trust in him and it may be time to sell him while you can.

SAN DIEGO: Rivers may be an easy guy to hate, but we all must admit his competitive nature is a good thing for this team. He bounced back for over 330 yds and 3 TD's. Early word is the Matthews injury is minor and will be ready next week. The big thing here is how he spread the ball around. Like expected, Floyd became much more involved and week to week should be a bit more steady play in fantasy than Naanee. Gates is Gates and all the Chargers you drafted should be starting weekly other than possibly Naanee.

JACKSONVILLE: I figured the Jags to force feed Simms-Walker, but didn't expect them to have the success on the road they did. Is this where he gets the road monkey off his back for good? We'll see, but regardless it's good to know he's alive. MJD does concern me though. 130 yds in two games with no scores on the ground is not what was expected. While by all means still a solid #1, there may be concern that all the work the last four years is catching up to him if only just a bit. Given the high price tag he came with in fantasy drafts I think after next week it may be time to sell high on him since people will keep the faith. You could easily get a solid #2 RB and a top WR for him at the moment. If you have depth, watch him next week and make a decision. Another sub 90 yd game without a score may mean trade time. The man you want right now is Mercedes Lewis. Three scores in two games and Gerrard's favorite target thus far could mean great things going ahead. The two worked together all off-season and Lewis even stayed in Jacksonville for the first time in his career to build their chemistry. I don't think it's a fluke but more a tandem having top trust in each other. Jacksonville hosts Philadelphia next week which has a possible upset written all over it. Having Kolb in as the starter could blow up in Reid's face quickly should he struggle, giving the Jags an edge if they can execute.

KANSAS CITY: Though giving fans a scare, the Chiefs pulled this one out on the road at Cleveland. Cassel had another poor outing but was saved by the run game and Defense. This could be the teams M.O. going forward, and fantasy wise will continue to hurt Bowe's value. At some point Cassel will settle in, but now is the time to buy low on Bowe. KC will host SF on a short week for them and another win is very possible. SF does have a much more talented Defense than SD or CLE so look for this as a true test of what Weiss can scheme. This should be a game where the pass is needed if KC is to pull this one out.

CLEVELAND: The Browns are in a funk, and Mangini's run is all but over. Wallace is definitely the QB the Browns should roll with, but the lack of a run game is where this team will get beat often. The value on Harrison has declined, and Hillis could take the job over as early as next week. Hillis had 35 on 8 carries while Harrison had double the carries for only 33 yds. The Browns will go with whoever gives them the best chance to win. Massoquoi has been a flop this far and while Cribbs did have a good game, he is not dependable every week as a starter. Hillis seems to be the back you want to own and picking up Wallace could prove to pay off if he keeps the job.

SEATTLE: The Broncos knew not to take Seattle lightly, and they didn't. The run game has been pathetic with Forsett being the lead back and not rushing over 44 yds in either game. Hasselbeck continued to look pretty efficient but at some point they will need a dependable #1 WR he can build with. Hasselbeck may be a dependable starter this year but the lack of another reliable starter leaves Tate and Forsett owners in limbo. Forsett is still the one to own, but past these two and Carlson there is not a play you can even trust. The Seabags host SD next week, so things may not get much clearer.

DENVER: Knowshon and Buckhalter looked healthy and Orton is quickly proving to be a better QB than anyone expected. Spreading the ball around again, Orton has thrown for 297 and over 300 yds. Denver seems to be a passing team first and has proved they can do it. Demarius Thomas' breakout after spending most the preseason injured has quickly dropped Gaffney's value. He should quickly be Orton's first target and Royal is back to producing like his rookie year after a down year last season. Both RB's still have value, but I don't see Knowshon living up to his high draft status. Demarius could be on the wire in a lot of leagues and is worth a pick up as a viable number 2 or 3 WR.

HOUSTON: Out to prove they are serious contenders, the Texans are showing they can do it by ground or air. Schaub threw for 497 and Foster had 69 running and 69 catching. Walter chipped in for 149 and Johnson put up 158. The questions come on Defense where they have given up 24 and 27 pts. They can surely outscore most teams, but what happens when a top Defense comes to town will be the true test if they can make it deep into the playoffs. Regardless Texans fans will take it and ride this wave as long as possible. Kevin Walter's big game was noticeable, but he is far from a reliable week in week out play. Andre Johnson's ankle sprain seems to be minor and nothing to worry about. Schaub and Johnson could become the Brady-Moss connection fantasy owners dream of.

WASHINGTON: The Redskins continue to impress given their aged RB's and WR corps. No one player seems to have a monster game, but they all work well as a unit. McNabb threw for a crazy 426 yds. but only one score. The Redskins seem to be serious contenders for their division which has been put up for grabs with Dallas' lazy start. Other than McNabb and maybe Cooley, there really isn't a guy I fully trust week in and out to start. None of the RB's have been impressive even though Portis did get 2 scores here. Santana Moss could easily get 40 yards or 140. It looks like Washington has given up on getting VJax, so if you had to start one WR here it is of course Moss. A roll of the dice each week.

NY GIANTS: Nobody could say the outcome was a shock, given the Colts were not in a good mood after a poor showing week 1. The Giants Defense was picked apart and Eli was forced to contend with a defense waiting for the throw in the second half. Not a big need for panic by any means unless you own Brandon Jacobs. He is clearly not pleased, and supposedly met with management about his role. Rumors even have him asking for a trade. Most surprising is the lack of a role for Steve Smith who was a fantasy stud last year. Manningham and Nicks are the Red Zone, big gain targets and Smith seems to be in the possession role. Now would be the time to sell Smith with the arguement that it's only two games. Unless injury happens, I can't see Smith expanding his role. Sure he will have some big games, but the plan seems to be that this is how he will be used. Given Nicks' injury record it's quite a possibility so stashing him on the bench for later isn't a bad idea either. At some point Jacobs will get a larger role since Bradshaw isn't built to be a 16 game grinder.

ARIZONA: Too bad Kurt Warner is happy being retired. I suspect ownership would be willing to build him his own golden plated church if he would return. Fitzgerald returned to normalcy after last week, and the disappearance of Beanie Wells has to be wearing on owners who took him as their number two back. Arizona lost too much during the off-season to contend and is a team in search of an identity. Tim Hightower is about the only sure fire week to week start given there are no other options behind him for now. Even with a Wells return, he should be able to produce if it becomes a time share. Fitzgerald will get his looks, but until Anderson proves he is capable Fitz loses his reliability as a solid number one starter. Given what he cost fantasy owners, I think trading him for some reliable upper second tier WR/RB combo of starters may be a good idea.

ATLANTA: Turner is expected to have a mild ankle injury so nothing serious to report or worry about. The big new is what Snelling can do if given the chance. However, you can't read into the monster game Atlanta had too much since Arizona is clearly a bad team nowhere close to what they were a year ago. Both Turner and White are the only two real options on this team, as Gonzalez and Ryan seem to be a bit too unpredictable. Next week's New Orleans game should be a better reflection of where Atlanta stands.

BUFFALO: One name can sum up the positives for this team and is all you need to know for fantasy....C.J. Spiller. Past that, why even bother wasting space.

GREEN BAY: They have proved they can beat a good team and a bad team, and are the Super Bowl contenders we expected. The loss of Ryan Grant shouldn't hurt them since Jackson is more than serviceable. Every other GB player on Offense is a legit fantasy start each week and the Defense could wind up at the top when all is said and done. Green Bay seems to have put it all together thus far and there isn't a team out there you wouldn't believe they can beat. They lack weakness pretty much anywhere but you could pick the secondary as a minor drop in comparisson to all their other squads. Jermichael wasted no time cementing his status as elite TE and Rogers, Jennings, and Driver are producing their usual numbers.

PITTSBURGH: Defense is this teams identity and fans have to be elated at the start Dixon has provided in Ben's absence. Problem now is that Dixon is out with a torn meniscus and they are damn lucky nobody took a chance on Leftwich. Either Batch or Leftwich will start next week against Tampa Bay which makes it more of a competition than it would have been had Dixon been the starter. Regardless, all this offense needs it two scores to win a game and maybe even one. The Defense is back and this team could become scary once Ben returns. One guy who should benefit when he does is Mike Wallace. The speedster needs Ben's big arm to produce and has not shown too much thus far. Hines Ward continues to excel no matter who has the ball, and while Mendenhall is putting up decent numbers, there is a nagging feeling that it's only a matter of time before he is less than relevant. For right now he's a solid number two RB and Ward is the only real weekly option.

TENNESSEE: Young got the bench treatment and Fisher prayed maybe Collins could spark something here. Last time this happened, Young went into the tank. We'll see what happens next time a situation like this takes place. I think he should have left Young in and let him struggle through it regardless as it was more of a case that no matter what the Steeler D was going to shut down anything the Titans could throw at them. Benching Young sends a message that can seriously make him doubt his comfortability and maybe cause him to be off his game and play a bit differently instead of taking those chances needed to win games. Next week will show how Vince reacts, but if it's not a good showing then I think Fisher is mostly to blame. The Steelers have CJ's number so look for him to get back to his sick numbers next week against the Giants whom are not the fastest team when stretching across the field.

NEW ORLEANS: The Saints were their usual selves, too many weapons to contend with and different looks each time around. They may be the hardest team in the NFL to game plan for. Both backs were used a lot and the big news is that Bush may miss 6 weeks with a broken bone in his lower leg. This may impact the team more than first thought since it does take away that one extra dimension Defenses have to worry about. Thankfully Chris Ivory, the pre-season sensation is waiting and looks like he has the ability to take over and fill the role. Ivory would be an interesting pick up if Bush has to shut it down for the season but otherwise I don't see any real value for just six weeks barring a Pierre Thomas injury.

SAN FRANCISCO: While many will complain about Alex Smith's play, he really wasn't the main problem. His receivers were less than helpful on a few of the interceptions, and even though he did throw some balls just behind them they were catchable. Overall you have to give them credit for the heart they displayed fighting until the end and tying it up late in the 4th. This could actually be a momentum builder for them despite the loss. They proved they can bounce back and if the turn overs can be limited they can win against top teams. Patrick Willis was in usual beast mode as were Gore and Vernon Davis. The Crabtree bust birds are chirping and this guy really is starting to live up to the prima donna status given to him during his hold out last year. Singletary will get this team right and by mid season they should be in contention for this division despite the 0-2 start. No WR is a trustworthy play here. Gore and Davis are the only two you can count on thus far.

WEEK 2 PREVIEW

ARIZONA CARDINALS at ATLANTA FALCONS: Neither team looked exceptionally good in their first outings. The first games are usually no big deal in terms of evaluation if a team does poorly, so both teams should look better. Atlanta should step up in their home opener on Defense, and with Jenkins not practicing yet it looks like stopping the run will be priority one. Atlanta is going to need Harry Douglas to step it up and force Arizona to respect the pass if Turner is going to break the century mark. For Arizona, things aren't much better. Fitz has a sprained knee, was still wearing a brace this week, and still needs time to build timing with Anderson. Breaston seems to be the go to guy until this happens. Wells may be back this week, but the rust will take some time before he gets comfortable. Hightower wasn't really spectacular, and will face a much tougher Defense here. Atlanta should win this one by shutting down the run without bringing an extra man up, allowing the Defensive Backs to kick pack and focus on the only two options Anderson has.

FANTASY STARTS: ATLANTA: Roddy White ( 7 for 80 1 TD) Turner ( 15 for 70 2 catch for 15 1 TD) ARIZONA: Steve Breaston ( 6 for 55 1 TD) Fitzgerald ( 8 for 70 yds.)

SLEEPER: Tony Gonzalez...He always seems to have big games at home and I could see him posting the second most yardage receiving here with a score.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: Matt Moore practiced, but it could be for show to keep the Bucs from planning on a definite QB. Both Carolina backs looked sluggish against the Giants, but it was probably more of the Giants defense than any big cause for concern. The lack of a number two and less than great QB play led to Steve Smith being the focus. Aquib Talib returns for the Bucs and should be able to handle Smith, although Smith will break away for one of his big ones. The Bucs showed they have improved up front in stopping the run, but will have their hands full. The ability of Talib in coverage, and the lack of a solid #2 WR for Carolina will have the Bucs stacking the box. Whoever the QB is, they will need to complete some quick passes and move the chains to open up lanes for Deangelo Williams. The Bucs face pretty much the same issue, with Mike Williams so far being the only threat at WR. Cadillac Williams will shoulder the load, and Carolina knows it. It will be on Freeman to make sure Sammy Stroughter and Winslow get involved early and often and force Carolina to respect the pass. This game comes down to QB play. If Moore does play, this should be a close game, toss up. If Clausen plays, the Bucs should pull this one out. He should have trouble reading the Tampa 2 hybrid Morris is running and will turn the ball over.

FANTASY STARTS: CAROLINA: Deangelo Williams (18 for 80 yds 1 TD) Steve Smith ( 6 for 110 yds. 1 TD) TAMPA BAY: Winslow ( 4 for 60 1 TD) Cadillac Williams ( 17 for 80 yds. 1 TD)

SLEEPER: Kareem Huggins....Gregg Olsen vowed not to force 24 touches on Cadillac again and Huggins should be in relief. Given his explosive abilities, he could break one for a score.

BALTIMORE RAVENS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: CINCINNATI: If you thought Cedric Benson was held in check last week, don't expect much more this Sunday. The Ravens shut down Greene, and the success of Tomlinson was more due to the need to respect the perimeter cause of his pass catching skills. Benson is more of a pure back like Greene and shouldn't get too far in this one. Palmer was made to look much like last year until it was chuck it time towards the end. This is a game always kept close and fought hard by both teams and could be the game of the week. Baltimore just has too many weapons for the Bengals to handle. The addition of Houshmenzadeh and match up against his former team will pose problems for the Bengals, having to worry about three WR's who can do some damage on any snap. Add to that Ray Rice and the Bengals lack of a pass rush last week and you have what could turn ugly if not kept close. Week one is by no means a great way to define a team, so I would look for the Bengals to bring their A game defensively. T.O. will need to earn his keep in a week that will define him. This is what they brought him in for. The Bengals will throw a lot, knowing what the Ravens run D can do.

FANTASY STARTS: BALTIMORE: All skill position players. Housh will get a score, Mason should post his normal numbers, Boldin and Rice will get their standard double digit games. CINCINATTI: Cedric Benson is at best a Flex play here and the only scoring will be through the air for the Bengals. Terrell Owens (8 for 70 yds. 1 TD) Chad Ochocinco ( 6 for 75 1 TD)

SLEEPER: Jermaine Greisham....Given all the focus on TO and Ocho, he should be able to break open in the Red Zone for a score, and may be utilized often if the Ravens are able to keep Palmer in check.

CHICAGO BEARS at DALLAS COWBOYS: Martz had Matt Forte looking like the second coming of Marshall Faulk, but the Bears have work to do in getting the WR corp up to speed. If he can, this could evolve into a really good Offense. The main problem seems to be with the secondary, who will be challenged this week. The Bears run D looked great, but Dallas is going to throw and get all receivers involved. Look for Dez Bryant to get more touches after being very efficient with the ball last week. Roy Williams is about to become nothing more than a possession guy (He already technically is) and this is the game that Bryant takes over. Miles Austin will have what is becoming his typical 1 TD 100 yd. game, but Barber and Jones will be shut down. Chicago will again use Forte as their main weapon, but before we start crowning him as mini-Faulk, let's see what he can do against a better Defense and when a team knows what to expect. Without any real threats out wide, Dallas will key on him and force Cutler to produce going to his Wide-Outs. This may be where Olsen is forced to be used and proves he needs to be involved. Dallas has a great secondary, and these two teams seem to play into each others weaknesses. Not good news for Chicago given the talent they have at WR. Dallas should pull this one out by 10 or more IF they don't implode with penalties and give the game away again.

FANTASY STARTS: CHICAGO: Forte ( 13 for 65 yds. 1 TD 6 for 40 catch yds.) Hester ( 4 for 60 1 TD) DALLAS: Austin (7 for 100 yds. 1 TD) D. Bryant (6 for 70 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: G. Olsen ( 4 for 55 yds. 1 TD) He would be a wild card the Boys don't plan for and could force them to change their whole scheme if Martz is smart enough to use him.

KC CHIEFS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: Delhomme may be out this week, though unless it's serious he should play after an unimpressive start against the Bucs. Colt Mccoy could be thrust into the line-up which translates to a loss. Hillis raised eyebrows with his performance last week, and may create a bit of a time share if he plays well again. The Browns will get a KC team who is riding high after beating the assumed division winner San Diego. KC will pound Cleveland on the ground, given the holes that were there for Cadillac Williams last week, and then throw it up once the defense is caught leaning to stop the run. Cleveland's only threats come on the ground and shouldn't pose a problem. They looked pretty good against Matthews last week, but I expect the secondary to get burned on one deep when they're not expecting it.

FANTASY STARTS: CLEVELAND: Harrison (14 for 60 yds. 1 TD) Massoquoi ( 5 for 60 yds. 1 TD) KC CHIEFS: Charles ( 16 for 90 1 TD) Jones ( 14 for 70 1 TD) Bowe ( 5 for 60 1 TD)
SLEEPER: TE Watson....Delhomme was looking for him and could find open field over the middle as KC plans to put pressure on Delhomme with a lot of Blitzes.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at DETROIT LIONS: The return of Mike Vick becomes official after he torches a Detroit Defense bound to be on the field for most the game. However, I think Vick actually tries to sit back and prove he is as much pocket passes as run threat. We saw him last week look for the pass first, sometimes forcing a throw when he could have easily run. If he can be effective throwing, then it makes the case for him as starter that much stronger and creates a shorter leash long term for Kolb should he struggle when he returns. Kolb will be the starter, but the Eagles locker room could shift down the road and rally behind Vick. Detroit will roll with Shaun Hill. He will be under pressure and be forced into some errant throws. Jhavid Best will be the focal point for Detroit, whom despite having a bad game at Chicago, did score twice.

FANTASY STARTS: EAGLES: Vick ( 220 yds passing 1 TD, 50 yds rush) D. Jackson ( 5 for 65 1 TD) McCoy ( 13 for 60 1 TD) LIONS: Best ( 17 for 80 yds. 1 TD) C. Johnson ( 5 for 70 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Scheffler....Hill will need a security blanket he can count on and will look to Scheffler often, especially if they get to the Red-Zone.

BUFFALO BILLS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: As if the Bills had enough to work on, ILB Poslunszny is out, giving the Packers more than enough options on how to beat the Bills. B. Jackson will carry the ball for GB with Ryan Grant sidelined, and should have a great showing. He has been waiting to be the feature back since losing the job in an open battle with Grant two years ago, and will showcase his skills on Sunday. The Bills CJ Spiller was proven to be a rookie last week, one who has great potential but will not be able to use it as long as the Bills have no line and no Offense past him. The Bills are easily outmatched here.

FANTASY STARTS: PACKERS: All of them! This could be a game where Driver, Jennings, Finley, and Jackson all taste the end-zone. BILLS: Spiller ( 17 for 70 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Trent Edwards....looking at the sheer number of times he will have to throw, this could turn into a decent double digit fantasy day for him. A decent play if you had Stafford, Moore, or Kolb as your starter.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS at TENNESSEE TITANS: You heard it here first, C.J. gets shut down in this one and becomes mere mortal. The Steelers have done a good job at containing him in the past and he will be the main focus. Dixon will need to challenge the Titan secondary in a game that may feature two QB's using their feet to help their team win. Mendenhall will be keyed on by Jeff Fisher, forcing Dixon to beat him. Vince Young showed he is still growing in the right direction, but he will need K. Britt to step up and help take some pressure off of Nate Washington. This one will be won on Defense and ball control. Slight edge to the Steelers.

FANTASY STARTS: STEELERS: Ward ( 8 for 90 yds. 1 TD) TITANS: You have to start CJ, but look for Nate Washington to be the main producer. ( 6 for 70 1 TD)
SLEEPER: BOTH Tight Ends....Young tends to zero in on Scaife against tough Defenses and Miller should be Dixon's favorite target here, dink and dunking with him down the field. Both could have a deciding outcome to the game.

MIAMI DOLPHINS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Vikes will have a lot of frustration to release after losing and looking like a shell of themselves Offensively. Without Rice to stretch the field, Favre was forced to work with bad routes under pressure. This changes here as he has more time to allow routes to develop from Harvin, Camarillo and Berrian. Miami was anything but stellar in the pre-season and given they played the Bills week one really didn't prove much more than they can beat a bad team. Marshall and the RB's will need their best games to hang in this one. Henne has questions about his ability, and the Vikes will keep him pressured all game long. Vikings win this one fairly easily.

FANTASY STARTS: VIKINGS: Harvin (6 for 70 yds 1 TD) Peterson (16 for 100 yds. 1 TD)
DOLPHINS: Marshall (8 for 90 yds. 1 TD) Brown ( 14 for 65 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Hartline....with the focus on the Miami back-field and Marshall, Hartline should face single coverage and burn the Vikings for a score with decent yardage.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at DENVER BRONCOS: Seattle surprised everyone but myself in this game, however, I wouldn't have thought the 49ers would have put up so little of a fight. I don't expect the same performance this week, but this will be a close game either team could pull out. Hasselbeck will put up good numbers since Seattle is forced to throw in this one. Mike Williams will not surprise anyone now and the Broncos will look to keep him in check with the Seattle back-field. This is where Branch and Carlson have big games. For Denver, a loss to Jacksonville will have Mcdaniels in a frenzy, vowing to execute the run more. The addition of Maroney will help him get there, allowing Moreno and Buckhalter to continue getting up to speed. Look for Denver to pound the ball frequently so Orton doesn't have to throw as much. Don't expect Lloyd to have another breakout game like he did last week. While Orton will spread the ball around, I see Gaffney and Royal as the main beneficiaries.

FANTASY STARTS: BRONCOS: Gaffney ( 7 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Royal ( 6 for 65 yds 1 TD)
SEATTLE: Branch ( 7 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Carlson ( 6 for 70 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Maroney....I can see about ten touches presuming his thigh is okay and a sneaky score. Players like him usually have something to prove after being moved to a new team. If healthy, Mcdaniels may give him more work.

ST. LOUIS RAMS at OAKLAND RAIDERS: If Oakland can't bounce back here then there will be big problems for the coaching staff. A loss here almost forces Al Davis to making a change somewhere on the coaching staff. However, everyone keeps their jobs this week and the Raiders shine against a young, unproven team. McFadden should have a lighter work load this week with Bush on pace to return, and the passing game settles into themselves. St. Louis will work Jackson till the wheels come off here since Clayton will not see many balls come his way when lined up against Asomugha. Look for Murphy to have a great game as he develops trust with Campbell and Mcfadden to score.

FANTASY STARTS: RAIDERS: Murphy ( 7 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Miller ( 6 for 55 yds. 1 TD) McFadden ( 17 for 80 yds. 1 TD) RAMS: Jackson ( 17 for 90 yds. 1 TD 5 catch for 40 yds.)
SLEEPER: Campbell...should be efficient in this one and toss at least two for a score.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at NY JETS: The Jets season is essentially on the line after proving they couldn't keep up with Baltimore. All the talk came back to punch them in the face and mouths seem to be zipped up this week. Shonn Greene will need to bounce back in a big way and Sanchez will have to prove he deserves the job. A poor showing here will begin the whispers for his job. The Patriots are back and Welker's health proved to be a big part in their return. Brady looks to be back to normal, and the Defense better than expected. With Maroney gone, Taylor becomes a bit better of a fantasy play long term, though not against the Jets even without Jenkins. Even with Revis, the Jets young corners were targeted with success last week and Welker will pose problems for them.

FANTASY STARTS: PATRIOTS: Welker (8 for 90 yds. 1 TD) Moss ( 5 for 70 yds. 1 TD)
JETS: B. Edwards ( 5 for 70 yds. 1 TD) L.T. ( 14 for 50 yds. 5 catch for 40 1 TD) Greene (15 for 70 yds.)
SLEEPER: Both NE TE's and Dustin Keller. Each of them are atheletic guys who can catch. The Jets will trust in Revis to follow Moss around and add extra coverage on Welker's side leaving Keller to find holes. Both NE TE's will find the same, question is which one gets the score?

JACKSONVILLE JAGS at SAN DIEGO CHARGERS: Like the Vikings, the Chargers will have a very angry chip on their shoulder and will come out blasting. Rivers could throw for over 300 here and go back to the vertical game after attempting a balanced attack last week. Matthew proved to be a solid back, but failed to break a big one. Hard to read last week's game given the conditions, but when Rivers is pissed he wants to throw. Look for him to actually pass last weeks solid performance and for Matthews to be the beneficiary due to a Jags team on their heels. Malcom Floyd will see more targets. The Jags will need to get Simms-Walker involved and MJD will most likely find himself with similar numbers as last week. Osgood could have a great game against his ex-team.

FANTASY STARTS: JACKSONVILLE: MJD ( 19 for 90 yds. 1 TD) Simms-Walker (7 for 90 yds. 1 TD) Osgood (5 for 60 yds. 1 TD) CHARGERS: Matthews (17 for 100yds. 1 TD) Floyd ( 5 for 80 yds. 1 TD) Gates (5 for 70 1 TD)
SLEEPER: Naanee...proving he is Rivers most reliable wide-out thus far, he could post the Floyd numbers if shut out again.

HOUSTON TEXANS at WASHINGTON REDSKINS: Riding high after defeating the Cowboys, Washington will look to try and contain Andre Johnson. Problem is who will contain Arian Foster. Foster will be out to prove week 1 was no fluke against a Defense that shut the Cowboy run game down. Washington proved to be a team that can play Shanny ball, but looked far from threatening. Washington will need to be effective on the ground to have a chance against a Defense that looks to have finally reached it's potential. Another WR will need to break out if Mcnabb is going to be successful here.

FANTASY STARTS: TEXANS: Johnson ( 8 for 120 yds. 1 TD) Foster (18 for 100 yds. 1 TD) Schaub ( 280 yds. 2 TD) REDSKINS: Portis (16 for 80 1 TD) Cooley (6 for 70 yds. 1 TD)
SLEEPER: S. Slayton....Foster will need rest and Slayton could sneak in for some decent yardage in the pass game including a score.

NY GIANTS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: The Colts will make adjustments after losing to divisional foe Houston. Sanders injury will pose big questions on Defense since he is such an intergral part. The Giants showed basic efficiency on the ground, and Manning picked up on last year, spreading the ball around well. Nicks will be the focus for the Colts as well as the Giants run game which I think can be held in check without bringing up any extra help. This will leave it on little brothers shoulders to find Smith and Manningham. The elder bro will need Collie to maybe solidify his status as the new option at Wide Out after Wayne. Since neither team was effective running the ball last week, this could become an air show for both.

FANTASY STARTS: GIANTS: Nicks ( 6 for 70 yds. 1 TD) Smith ( 8 for 75 yds. 1 TD)
COLTS: Wayne (8 for 90 yds. 1 TD) Collie ( 7 for 60 yds. 1 TD) BOTH MANNINGS......
SLEEPER: Jacobs....the Giants will need a bruiser against the Colts line and Jacobs will wear them down, allowing things to open up down the field.
